Instructor License
You must already have an active aesthetics, barbering, cosmetology, nail technology, or hairstylist license for a minimum of 1 year and completion of 350 instructor hours by an Arizona-licensed school.
Aesthetics, Cosmetology, Hairstyling and Nail Technology (A.A.C. R4-10-B201):
- Must provide proof of current license
- Must provide proof of 1 year work experience
- Must provide proof of being at least 18 years old
- Proof of graduation from high school or its equivalent
- Must provide proof of legal presence in the U.S.
Barbering (A.A.C. R4-10-A202):
- Must provide proof of current license
- Must provide proof of 1 year work experience
- Must provide proof of being at least 19 years old
- Proof of graduation from high school or its equivalent
- Must provide proof of legal presence in the U.S.

Log into the portal.

Fill out the required information and upload the required documents.

It currently takes up to 4 weeks for a completed application to be processed. If any additional information is needed from you, you will receive an email from the licensing portal notifying you that you have a message in the portal under the Communications Center. You can check your application status by logging into the licensing portal. Upon being licensed, you will receive an email from the portal notifying you that you have a message in the portal under the Communications Center. When you receive the notification that your application has been accepted, you can then print your license by clicking on ‘Print License’ on the left-hand side navigation menu. |
